As a filmmaker and storyteller who often finds himself in leadership roles, I know how to see the road through the fog and clear the haze so my collaborators can steer. That means that I’m the bringer of the calm to the chaos of the circus.
I want your search for an editor to end here.
Growing up in southeast Houston, my first collaborator was my grandmother. We would spin tales as vast as our minds could imagine. Later I discovered patching together 2 VCRs to edit videos I made with my cousins. That's when I realized I found a way to share stories and help others express their visions.
Story is story - regardless of medium. I want to protect and preserve the showrunner's vision, like a knight guarding the Holy Grail. (Usually without the helmet and armor).
I live for stories that move between comedy and drama. In particular, I relish those scenes that need to shift in mere moments. As life is rarely monotone, the authenticity of a show’s tenor means everything to me.
Creative challenges excite me. As a director, I understand the challenges that producers and directors face in the edit bay. In every project, I work to connect the dots and see the bigger picture. I aim to make everything work, like fixing a plot problem with ADR or adding tension with a car crash.
I also understand the importance of navigating cultural differences. I've lived and worked on three continents. Cutting an animated feature in China and a TV series in the UAE, exposed me to unique perspectives of the world. Suffice it to say, it was enlightening.
I turn broad brushstrokes into art that speaks volumes in 500 words or less. After all, who has time to read 1,000?
